Farsley V Stevenage – Match Preview

By James Grayson

Tomorrow sees FA Trophy holders Stevenage Borough make their first ever visit to Throstle Nest with live TV coverage on Setanta Sports 1

Stevenage are managed by Peter Taylor who only eight years go was caretaker manager of the England national team for one game. But the game which was against Italy is most remembered for Taylor handing David Beckham the captaincy for the first time. Taylor became Stevenage manager in November after leaving Crystal Palace a few weeks earlier.

Stevenage go into the game on the back of a good run of league wins which has seen them capture second spot. Their most recent game was against Celtic’s relegation rivals Droylsden and the game saw Droylsden crushed 5-0.

Earlier on Wednesday, Stevenage confirmed the signing of former Millwall player Peter Vincenti and he is likely to play tomorrow.

Celtic’s recent league form has not been so good and January has seen them slide into the relegation places.

Celtic boss John Deacey will be able to call upon new signings tomorrow and these include Georges Santos and Scott Gardner. Along with the two confirmed signings, Celtic chairman Andy Firbank has today confirmed that the club are hoping to sign a centre forward and a centre back in time for the clash with Stevenage.

Please also be aware parking for supporters will not be available at the Ground.
